Attending the Summer School

The Networking Event will take place in the Library and Learning Center of Vienna University of Economics and Business.:

ESSAI 2026 is committed to making the summer school accessible to a broad and diverse community of students and early-career researchers. To support this goal, a limited number of participation grants will be made available. Details regarding the exact number of grants, their types, and the level of financial support will be announced at a later stage.

Depending on available resources, participation grants may include:

• Waivers of the registration fee
• Financial support for travel and/or accommodation costs

These grants are primarily intended for students and early-career researchers who might otherwise face financial barriers to attending ESSAI 2026. Particular consideration will be given to applicants who:

• Are affiliated with institutions or regions with limited financial resources
• Belong to groups that are underrepresented in Artificial Intelligence
• Provide a strong motivation and clearly demonstrate how they would benefit from attending the summer school

ESSAI is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment and encourages applications regardless of socioeconomic background, nationality, gender identity, disability, or other personal characteristics.

Further information about the grant application process—including application forms, deadlines, and notification dates—will be published in early 2026.

The social program of ESSAI 2026 will include multiple activies for networking and relaxtion.

Reception at the City Hall (Wiener Rathaus)

A reception at the City Hall is planned on July 6.
