Members of other universities can connect via Eduroam. Please ensure your username includes your university's domain (e.g., username@universitydomain).

The most common way to reach the city from Vienna Airport is by train. You will see many advertisements for the CAT train at the airport, but you do not need to use the CAT train to reach the city. Regional trains such as the S7 or REX7 are completely fine and may be more convenient, for example if your hotel is close to a station on metro line U1. There are also trains that connect Vienna Airport directly with the main train station (Wien Hauptbahnhof), although they are less frequent. You can check connections at https://fahrplan.oebb.at/. Tickets can be bought from the ticket machines at the station. Additional information about reaching the city center from the airport is available at wien.info.

At ESSAI we adopt the following photo consent policy. You are asked to read and sign this upon arrival, choosing your lanyard of preference accordingly. The policy is outlined accordingly:

During ESSAI the official photographer will be onsite and taking photographs of attendees at both working sessions and during social times.

• Select a blue lanyard if you have no objection to being photographed at ESSAI.
• Select a white lanyard if you do not want to be photographed during the event or at social events of ESSAI.
• To attend ESSAI and its social events, you must at all times wear your lanyard with name badge.

The white lanyard indicates:

• You do not want to be individually photographed by either professional or amateur photographers.
• You do not want to be included in small group photos taken by professional or amateur photographers.

Please note that photos of large groups may contain incidental images of attendees in white lanyards which ESSAI will not attempt to redact.

Note: In addition, many participants engage in photography as a hobby and enjoy taking photos during the meeting. Please note that we expect all photographers - official and amateur - to act respectfully when taking photographs of attendees. If you feel that someone is acting disrespectfully, please contact us at essai26-info@logic.at.

ESSAI 2026 is committed to promoting a welcoming, respectful, and harassment-free environment for all attendees, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, body, ethnicity, or religious beliefs. We strive to create a conference where every participant feels valued and respected, and we therefore have a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of harassment or discrimination.

Behavior that violates these principles, including any inappropriate or discriminatory language, will not be accepted. Individuals exhibiting such behavior may be expelled from the event immediately without the right to a refund.
